Maingate improves performance with Basefarm
CEO Baard Eilertsen is in no doubt that an external sourcing partner with specialist expertise will bring great benefit to Maingate Enterprise Solutions. Which is why the company has entered into a running contract with Basefarm to ensure the secure and safe operation of its platform for Internet of Things.
Maingate Enterprise Solutions focuses on solutions for smart energy systems, smart companies and smart homes by supplying end-to-end network management for energy companies and industrial enterprises. Maingate initially focused on machine-to-machine communication, but due to all the cloud-based services now available, it is now a specialist IoT supplier serving customers such as E.ON, DeLaval, JM and SSE.
Operations were located in the part of Maingate that was sold at the turn of the year. Maingate therefore needed a new operations supplier, but as Maingate’s CEO Baard Eilertsen says: “the quality was more important than the time aspect”. He continues:
“What was crucial for us was to find a supplier with which we could grow with and which is reliable, experienced and has a good understanding of the industry we’re in. Basefarm has a good reputation and we immediately felt we could trust them. They have a good implementation process and can provide us with the professional support we need during our growth phase, so we can focus on our own core activities without having to worry about operations. I’m sure we’ll achieve better sourcing with Basefarm.”
“The contract is an acknowledgement of our expertise as supplier to companies that supply the SaaS services of the future and solutions for Internet of Things. Basefarm has always focused on the management of mission critical IT services. This is often the key issue for customers contacting us to discuss collaboration, as was the case with Maingate,” says Sara Murby Forste, Basefarm’s Country Manager for Sweden.
Basefarm is the leading hosting provider for mission critical business applications. Basefarm provides advanced technology solutions, high-end cloud services, application management, and colocation from their six datacenters in Europe to ensure that mission critical solutions are always available. Basefarm was founded in 2000 and with their 400 staff they host more than 40 000 services reaching over 40 million end users all over the world.
